LOGIC PUZZLE: BEHIND THE MAGIC
History
Logic Puzzle is a weekly comic that appears in the University of Alberta’s student newspaper, The Gateway. It is the mad vision of writer/artist Scott C. Bourgeois and sometimes co-writer James Storrie, and first graced the comic page in the fall of 2004. Since then it has become another part of the Gateway’s illustrious comic history, which has included such notable comics as Bob the Angry Flower, Space Moose and Deathworld.
This online collection has been made possible thanks to the generous donation of webspace by Shaun Lyons, the insane force behind the comic Mich Mich, which also graces the Gateway comic page with its presence.
The Authors
Scott
Scott C. Bourgeois is the head writer and artist for Logic Puzzle. Generally speaking, he takes James’ impossible demands and makes them into reality with magic and tenacity. Scott also writes Opinion and A&E, and a weekly crossword for the Gateway.
Scott’s hobbies include various artistic pursuits, including theatre, writing and drawing, none of which can be made into a viable career. He also indulges in the height of dorkiness, from Dungeons and Dragons to multiplayer video-games. He is currently studying for a BA in English at the U of A.
JAMES
James Storrie is the former sometimes co-author of Logic Puzzle. Usually, this entailed coming up with an impossibly funny premise, then going and playing games at the arcade, leaving Scott to figure out how to make it work.
James has been called an incorrigible hipster more than once, but considers it a point of pride. When not illegally downloading RPG material from the internet, he can be found illegally downloading comic books.
